Tips On How To Properly Clean Your Car

When it comes to cleaning a car, there are certain tips that we can follow in order to do it properly. How often do we need to clean the car? Some of us clean them once a month. Other people wash them only when the car is dirty enough. Most car owners clean their vehicles on weekends. That is the only time available for us to clean the car because most of us do not work on weekends. Saturday and Sunday is usually spent with the family. Most of us do home chores like cleaning the house and cleaning the car.

It is a must for us to check the vehicle if they are clean or not. Do not wait until we see layers of crud before we decide to clean the car. Dirt materials like bird droppings and dead flies or bugs can strip the protective wax off the vehicle. If we let them as it is and do not clean them immediately, it may cause certain damage on the car’s paint. In that case, we might be spending more money instead of just cleaning them. Bird droppings have a certain acid that may ruin the car’s paint in time. If that happens, we need to sand and repaint the car again.

As we clean the car, it is notable not to use dishwashing agents, detergents, or even hand soap on the surface or car’s paint. Those substances were specifically designed for their own purpose. Hand soaps are for the hands, and detergents are for clothes alone. They will just rinse off the protective wax of the car. In cleaning or washing the car, we need to use a car- wash product that are often sold at car accessory centers. There are so many car-wash products that are mild enough not to remove the wax from the car.

How to Choose the Perfect Tires for Your Car

Car tires are things we tend not to think about too often unless we need a repair or it is time to replace them. Many times we ignore them but in fact, they can have a lot to do with safety, functionality, and even aesthetics. For instance, you wouldn’t want a Z-rated race tire to pull a travel trailer with your diesel pickup truck any more than you would want a knobby off-road tire on a Ferrari! If you have a powerful truck and plan on hauling heavy payloads or towing large trailers, you might want to add the strength of a thicker wall tire. If you own a Corvette and want to be able to carve the corners and make long sweeping turns on rural highways, you may want to get a set of car tires with a little bit better grip.

Having a low profile tire on a big wheel may look very attractive but it can hurt the comfort of your ride. The taller the sidewall on your tire, the more flex it will have. This will allow it to absorb more bumps and irregularities on the road before they get transferred to the wheel and ultimately, through the suspension. Wide tires with a very soft rubber compound may be expensive but they often have the best grip. This will allow you to take turns at a higher rate of speed as well as accelerate more quickly without spinning your tires or losing control of the vehicle.

Truck tires are a little different compared to car tires in a way that they usually have a taller sidewall for a softer ride and to help support the weight of heavy loads. Large knobby tires that are meant for an off-road rig may look great and work well in the mud but they may also make a lot of noise when going down the highway at 70 miles per hour.

The Ins And Outs Of Brakes

Brake rotors are an essential part of any auto. Whilst you may be able to do without some parts of the auto, such as air con etc, brake rotors is something you cannot live without.

    What are brake rotors?

When a car is driving and needs to stop, it is the brake rotors that enable this to happen. The two sets of wheels are each attached to a long pole. When the brake pedal is hit, the rotors clamp down on the rod, and thus the wheels cease to spin.

The reason brake rotors are such an important part of any auto is because nothing else is able to prevent the wheels from continuing to spin. The brake pads themselves cannot for more than one reason clamp down themselves. One reason is that this would cause the wheels to wear through extremely quickly, in fact, too quickly.

Since the wheels are usually spinning quite fast, the brake rotors need to have a lot of grip when braking. At the time of braking, there is a lot of friction caused. To be able to withstand all this, the brake pads need to be made of a material that will not give in to the pressure and friction.

When choosing the correct material for brake pads, one must bear in mind what happens when the car brakes. As the rotors try to get a grip, heat and gases are created due to the intense friction levels. Thus the brake pads need to be made of a material that can withstand high levels of heat too.

The original brake pads were made of asbestos as it is widely known for its resistance to heat. However, when braking, the asbestos gave of extremely harmful dust. This dust is dangerous to breathe in and too much was being created to be ignored.

Why Car Wash Machines Are Best for Cleaning Car Interiors

A car wash machine is used for auto detailing on a commercial basis. All maintenance contractors and car wash businesses look for a car wash machine that is powerful, long-lasting, and productive. The car wash machine should be affordable and have proper warranties.

To clean car interiors, both a carpet cleaner and a steam cleaner can be used.

    Carpet Cleaners

While there are many types of carpet cleaners available on the market, you can narrow down the search for the perfect car washer machine using the following criteria:

    1. Temperature: You can choose between a heated or non-heated carpet cleaner. A heated car wash machine clears away grease, wax, and stains while also removing odors and molds. A commercial carpet cleaning machine often attains temperature as high as 210 degrees Fahrenheit. For lightly soiled carpets, seat covers, and car rugs, you can use a non-heated car wash machine. Non-heated machines are less expensive and consume less power than hot water carpet cleaners. You also must keep in mind the type of carpet or fabric to be cleaned as expensive or handcrafted carpets cannot withstand very high temperatures. This is usually not an issue when cleaning vehicle interiors.
    2. Water Efficiency: Low flow carpet cleaners use minimal water for cleaning. Most car washing businesses have turned to low flow machines because of their many advantages. Besides reducing water bills, these machines also reduce costs and labor associated with collection and disposal of dirty water. These machines are particularly useful if you need to clean cars in areas experiencing drought conditions.
    3. Portability: This is an important criteria if you run a mobile car wash business or need to clean a large fleet. Portable car washer machines are wheeled units, while these are lightweight.
